Home Kit Terms
Last updated: June 15, 2026
These Home Kit Terms cover the Stasis Home Kit, a mail-in test kit you use yourself. They add to our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which also apply. Where these terms and the Terms of Use cover the same thing, these terms control for the kit.
1. What the kit is
The Stasis Home Kit lets you test your home’s water yourself. You collect samples following the instructions in the kit and mail them to our laboratory partner. We then return your results and a Stasis Home interpretation in the app. The kit is a self-collected screening tool, not a professional in-home assessment (that is our separate concierge audit).
2. Buying, payment, and shipping
- We sell the kit to you. We fulfill it through our laboratory partner, which ships it to you and provides the prepaid return shipping.
- Prices, contents, and availability can change. Applicable taxes apply.
- Payment is handled as described in the Terms of Use.
3. Activation and the laboratory partner’s system
You activate your kit and receive your laboratory results through our laboratory partner’s online system. When you use that system, the partner’s own terms and privacy practices apply to that part of the process, in addition to ours. We pass your sample and the information needed to run it to that partner so they can analyze it and return results.
4. Collecting your sample (this part matters)
Your results are only as good as the sample you provide. You agree to follow the kit instructions exactly, including using the correct containers, the right timing (for example, a first-draw sample), sealing the samples, and mailing them promptly. Improper collection, contamination, delay, or storage can invalidate or skew your results, and we are not responsible for results affected by how a sample was collected, stored, or shipped. If your sample arrives unusable, we will send you one replacement kit at no charge.
5. Your results are information, not professional advice
- Your results and our interpretation are for general information. They come from a single sample taken at one point in time and describe that sample, not your whole home over time.
- They are not medical, environmental-engineering, or legal advice, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for a professional assessment. They are not for any legal, regulatory, or evidentiary use.
- The analysis is performed by an accredited laboratory, but the result is still informational, and conditions in a home can change. Do not rely on a kit result for a decision that needs a professional.
6. We do not make claims about other companies
Your results describe what was measured in your sample. They are not a statement that your water utility, your home’s builder, any product maker, or anyone else did anything wrong, was negligent, or broke any law. Our interpretations are our informed opinion, not statements of fact about anyone else’s conduct. We are independent and not affiliated with or speaking for any utility, builder, manufacturer, or agency.
7. Sales are final
All Home Kit sales are final and non-refundable, including unactivated kits, because we pay the laboratory when the kit is purchased. The one exception is the free replacement above if a sample arrives unusable. This no-refund policy is disclosed to you before you buy.
8. The rest of our terms apply
Our Terms of Use govern your account, acceptable use, the arbitration agreement and class-action waiver, the limitation of liability, and California governing law. Our Privacy Policy governs how we handle your information. Those apply to the kit as well.
